Adjusting to daily blogging

I’m proud of myself. I have only skipped writing a post twice during this month. The goal was to have at most 3 unsuccessful writing days. There are still days left but this is looking fine!

However, I have to adjust my schedule a little bit. Having too many long posts to write isn’t that good idea and I’m missing my 10 minutes thoughts series where I just ramble about nothing important. The new schedule is here!

Daily blogging schedule:
[Mon: Reviews, Tues: BusinessWed: TravelThu:  Lifestyle
Fri: WritingSat: ReviewsSun: LifestyleDaily: Photographs]

Looks unreal to have post ideas for every day of the week but at the same time, I’m loving this… Imagine if you could just spend all your days writing blog posts? How could I make that possible? Any ideas? Well, for some time now I just have to keep doing my other lovely jobs. No complaining!

5 Memories From 2016

I was going through the drafts I have never published on this blog and I found this one. 5 memories from the year 2016. I know, I know. It is almost the summer of 2018 so this is super late. Better to get used to this because I have never been someone good with deadlines I give for myself… But hey I have already written this so here are some exceptional memories from my year 2016. I hope you enjoy!

1. First night alone in my first own home. I didn’t have any furniture so I had to sleep on the floor. I only had two blankets and a pillow. It was freezing and too quiet. All I was able to see was the streetlight outside of my window and the beautiful sky. Still, this is not a bad memory but rather a happy one. All I can remember is the amazing feeling of living on my own… New city, new school and me totally alone. It started as an adventure.

2. Completing my first Fiverr gig. And especially getting paid for the first travel article I wrote. Even now after doing this as my full-time job and writing hundreds of paid travel articles for different websites I can’t describe the feeling of earning money with my own writings. This is definitely the thing I want to do with my life. And I will never forget this memory, the unbelievable feeling that someone found my writing good enough to pay for it.

3. Road trip around France’s coastline. Me and two older ladies drove around France’s sunny seaside cities. We left in the early morning and returned after dark. Once again life showed me that traveling and adventuring to new places is my passion.

4. My first school day. I was scared to death because being social has never been my strength. Starting school after a long gap year seemed like the worst decision on that morning. I was staying at a cute hostel and decided to escape there on every break because I didn’t know what to do. It felt like starting the first grade all over again. Later on, I found a lot of friends but also dropped out because school is just not for me.

5. Realizing that my travel blog may be kind of “big deal”. It wasn’t just one moment and I haven’t yet fully understood it. But there have been many moments when someone says something or everytime someone comments on my blog that I realize how my blog has grown out of my hands. I mean I would have never guessed at the start of the year when I wrote my first post that at the end of the year I would have over thousand readers. Isn’t that crazy? (Yes, even now in 2018 with several blogs and thousands of readers this is still crazy…)

Do you have any crazy memories from 2016 (or later years) that you can remember? Or are you like me who forgets posts like this and the publishes them years later? Like always all comments are more than welcome!

With love,

Viivi Who Remembers

The Versatile Blogger Award

I haven’t been writing this blog that much lately (I am going to change that, okay!) but my travel blog has been active.

I got nominated in my travel blog for Versatile Blogger Award by The Wandering Itinerant. I am super thankful for that because it still feels so odd that someone would think my blog is worth of mentioning! If you haven’t yet read her blog, do it now. Her texts are always interesting and give me positive vibes every time I read them.

The Rules

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share 7 facts about yourself.
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers of your choice.
  4. Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination.

7 facts about me…

  1. I am going to start studying creative writing in open university this autumn.
  2. I don’t have my own apartment and I am currently staying on my mum’s couch. #studentlife
  3. Crime TV-series are my favorite way to pass time but I get super bored when reading crime novels even if usually I am huge fan of books.
  4. I have 5 different library cards and I use all of them regularly.
  5. Blogging is still huge mystery for me. I just write and have no idea what else I should do. Same with social media.
  6. My life is currently hectic because I have bad habit of buying flight tickets without thinking my decisions more than a few hours.
  7. I have always been the quiet shy girl who let’s others speak before her but makes her views know if it is important.

10 People I am nominating:

I had hard time deciding 10 blogs to nominate here because this blogging community is full of amazing talented writers! These people were nominated because I love their blogs and think everyone should be reading their writings. (The links take you to their post I recommend you should read.)

Pastel Bottle Rocket
Earth’s Magical Places
The Wandering Core
Passport and Pigtails
Travel With Saskia
That Anxious Traveller
Shy Backpack
Seven Days Away With Jake
Slowly Becoming Adventurous
Dreams Voyager

I hope you are having an amazing day!

Turning 22…

I have been busy for the last few weeks… (I accidentally wrote years first and now I have existential crisis because that is too true!) First I was traveling for two week and you can read more about that from my TRAVEL BLOG. Then we had my sister’s graduation party. And now yesterday I turned 22.

22 sounds too much. Where have all my years gone? I keep forgetting how old I am. Every time someone asks my age it takes forever to answer. Maybe I am just trying to forget. Years aren’t going by and I am not standing here doing nothing.

Lately I have been feeling even more lost with my life. I can’t decide what I want to study and what would be the best option for me. How could I know what I will want to do the rest of my life?

Song of the week

AUSTIN PLAINE – NEVER COME BACK AGAIN

Good friend linked this song for me and it just feels so close to my heart. All the lyrics just sound like my thoughts…

Well, I hope you are having a good week! And at least don’t have as big age crisis as I do…

So…University? Or..?

It’s again that time of the year! I have to throw dices, pick eyes shut and randomly decide universities to apply for. I know I am in one right now but this isn’t really my thing and my parents (+everyone else) thinks that I should study something different.

Problem?

I have no idea what! So this post is basically going to be me not applying anywhere, trying to find THAT right university for myself and of course random talk about nothing important. So… are you ready? Let’s get random and try to solve this impossible puzzle of my school problems.

Right now I am studying business in small city far far away from my home town. It is not ideal but I have liked some of the subject we study here. Marketing is something I would see myself studying more but I totally suck at it so probably not the best career choice. I am extremely good at money, legal, computer and documentation things but I have totally slept through all those classes because it was too easy. I would die to boredom if I had to study more of that.

One possible option: studying business remotely.

+ I LOVE remote and internet studying
+ Possible to do the work anywhere
+ More travelling? And blogging?
+ Those interesting marketing courses
– Limited possibilities / only a few different courses
– Where would I live? Going back to home is not option…
– What would be my future career?
– Two days / a month ‘real’ school days

If I choose that remote studying option, the next step is to choose do I want to continue in the school I am right now or do I was to try to get in some other school. My current university is nice but it’s expensive to come here for a few days every month. Problem is that I don’t know if I can get in to other similar universities from my university.

Old dream: Psychology

+ I studied all possible courses in high school
+ Talking with people, reading others, etc. is my strength
+ I dreamed about this for a few years
– Hard to get in
– I am not sure if this is my dream anymore

Psychology was something I really enjoyed in high school. Other courses I never really studied or tried but in my psychology classes I was always listening, writing things up and really trying. In the end I never even tried to get in. I don’t even know why. Maybe it just isn’t my thing?

New interest: Translation & English

+ Apparently I am good translator
+ I enjoy translating and could see it as my job
+ I can study English literature at the same time
– My spoken English is bad so…
– It seems quite boring thing to study
– Once again is my English good enough?

I have done quite a few translating gigs this year and it seems like I have found my hidden talent. I even enjoy doing it. However I am not sure if it is something I want to do for the rest of my life. It’s only something I would see myself doing for a while. Also there (and in entrance exams) I have to speak English and I just can’t pronounce any words…

What even is this? Cultural Producer

+ Sounds interesting and combines all things I love
+ Partly remote program
+ Culture is always good thing
– I am not leader
– I have no idea what this career would be
– My parents would never agree

I just found this field of study but I have no idea what it really is. Well, I have a few days to find more information. Maybe it’s my thing?

For my writer side: Journalism

+ I love writing
– I don’t see myself as journalist
– I could never write “official” texts

Why can’t there just be job that would allow me to travel the world, write for hours everyday, meet new people, volunteer and keep learning different kind of subjects forever? I am lost case. Nothing interests me. How can I even choose one thing to do for the rest of my life??!?

There is so many more universities and fields I could talk about but I am now feeling so helpless that let’s not talk more about that. I didn’t really find any interesting subjects! So many options and still nothing that fits me.

Any tips how to find that right future career for me? (Don’t suggest career tests because those always tell that I would be good priest, relationship counselor, entrepreneur or librarian… No thanks!)

Do you have any problems with deciding your future career? Or did you have these problems before? And like always all comments are welcome (even if you wanted to tell me about your day!)

Viivi Severina

One Year Blogging (Award)

Somehow I only write this blog when my travel blog gets nominated for blogger awards… (Sorry, I have meant to write more and I will try to write more in the future!) So, you may not be surprised that I am back here writing because lovely blogger behind Teacakesand nominated me for Blogger Recognition Award! Remember to check out her blog because even if she is just starting she is amazing writer. (And who wouldn’t love blog talking about travelling and tea?)

How my blog started?

I think the timing for this is too good to be true. I started my blog GoTravelGlobal  one year ago. (4.2.2016) How did that happen? I have no idea… I had returned from Japan a few months back and had still my ‘after long time travel depression’. I have always been person who writes when they are stressed, sad, happy or literally just feeling anything. So I started my blog to collect some memories I had in Japan, share new memories because I was already planning my new trip to France and of course to learn English.

At first my blog was meant for just myself. You know a little bit like diary so I could return to my memories later on when I am too old to remember anything. (I can’t usually even remember what I did last weekend so this is probably a good plan…) I was even embarrassed and I still am because my English has too many mistakes and the things I write are sometimes just plainly boring.

So my blog which currently has over 1 500 readers (how the heck did that happen??) and that I write two times every week was once just something small I decided to do for myself. If I can do this and meet some amazing people because I keep writing, anyone can do it!

Advice For New Bloggers:

I don’t know if I am the right person to give advice. I just go with the flow. Keep writing and don’t care what others say but always remember to be nice for everyone. This may sound corny but it is the simple truth.

I have seen some bloggers who either change their style depending what the readers like OR start ignoring all people reading their blog. Find the right balance between is my advice. Keep being you and writing things you love while using your own voice. And at the same time listen your readers even the ones who have different point of view from yours. Always answer to everyone who takes their time to comment your writings and maybe even check out their blog. Be kind to everyone but don’t try too hard to make everyone like you.

Sorry… This didn’t probably make any sense!

And now to the part I always find hard to do… Nominating blogs! I may be a little bit socially awkward so usually I just don’t do this part. However there is so many amazing blogs I have just found or that I have been reading for a while that I wanted to tell them how much I appreciate their writings. So remember to check out these amazing seven blogs I collected to nominate!

Kasiawrites

The Bubbly Traveler

Zo Around The World

Traveling Matters to us

Sweater Giraffe Travels

Shy Backpack

DreamsVoyager

.        .        .

If you want to be involved in the Blogger Recognition Award these are some simple rules:

Give a brief story of how your blog started.

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.

Select 10 other bloggers you want to give this award to.

So thank you for everyone reading this blog or my GOTRAVELGLOBAL blog. I hope you are having an amazing day! (And btw I would love you forever if you followed my blog’s Facebook! No worries I am not going to spam your page but you will get my newest travel post two times every week.)

Versatile Blogger Award

Hello everyone!

I know I’m lacking at this writing thing here (don’t roll your eyes when I say I have been busy…) But now I’m back because lovely Alice from Alicevsthethew0rld has nominated me for Versatile Blogger Award! If you haven’t already read her blog make sure you check out her adventures around the world. If you like haunted/paranormal travel tips her blog has many posts you will find interesting.

But now here is five facts of me you probably didn’t know:

  • I keep constantly dyeing my hair even if my mom hates it. And no I don’t mean blond, brown or other normal colors! Right now I have pink hair (it’s my personal favorite) but I have also had a little bit everything from bluish purple to carrot orange.

  • I have been addicted to kpop (or Korean pop) for years. And when I say for years I mean close to ten years now… I have endless list of favorite bands but to mention a few of them: Nu’est, BigBang, Super Junior, SHINee, Block B, BTS and B.A.P. (Maybe I should do longer post for this subject?)

  • I studied animal careering so in theory I would be qualified to work in zoo, animal clinic, farm or as dog sitter. I love animals and had a lot of fun when studying but it’s not something I want to do the rest of my life.

  • I’m bookworm. I love reading. That’s it nothing more to say here.

And then I have to nominate people for Versatile Blogger Award. I have been too busy to decide any one so I will just nominate anyone who wants! I think all bloggers or people who even try to write deserve to get awarded.

October Addictions

It’s again the end of another month and that means we get to take closer look to my life during that month. Are you ready to hear about my likes and dislikes?

My Month In A Few Words:

October has been busy one. The school has properly started, I went to London and have met a lot of new people.

School
I haven’t learnt so many new things yet but I am totally enjoying the subjects. Marketing, law and business. I think this may be my thing but can’t be sure yet. Currently this is my only school plan so let’s see where is goes.

Blogging
My blog isn’t secret anymore so it has caused some extra stress for me. I try to not think it too much but it’s hard. I don’t even know if poeple I know are reading. I just know they now know about this blog (if they have found it trough my travel blog).

.          .         .

October Addictions:

Music

I have been mostly listening inspiration playlists from Youtube but in addition to that here are some of my lately addiction songs:

BTS – Blood, Sweat & Tears

What is there not to love in this song? The music video is too artsy for me but everything else makes me fall in love with BTS all over again. And I just want to point out that the whole album (you can find it from Spotify) is golden! Suga’s song “First Love” is masterpiece.

Hayley Kiyoko

Hayley is one of my favorite singers and actresses. It’s kind of funny story. First time I have ever seen her was probably the Disney Channel movie ‘Lemonade Mouth’, then in the Fosters and somewhere between there I had listened her music. I just never realised it was same girl in that movie, TV show and songs. The I saw her in CSI: Cyber and she quickly became my favorite actress and singer. She is brilliant and so is this song!

Movies

Now You See Me 2
I loved the first movie and the second one didn’t dissapoint me even if I had high expections. I’m in love with Jack, totally my kind of man. If you don’t know the story I can just say: watch this if you lov magic, thieves and cute friendships. It’s a little bit like a leverage but with magic. Basically it has everything I hope for a good plot.

 – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

TV-series

House Of Lies
I tought this Tv-series was about law and boring stuff (I’m not a fan of law shows..) But then I read from somewhere that it’s kind of similar as Leverage (my ultimate favorite TV show ever!) so I decided to give it a change. I kind of like it. A little too much nudity and dirty jokes for my tastes.

 – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Books

Harry Potter
I didn’t have a lot of time to read this month (well expect some school books…). However because we decided to visit Harry Potter studio tour thing in London of course I had to read something Potter related to get in mood. I read the first chapters of book three but didn’t have time to finish it…

 – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Places

Empty Beach
I did small trip to the nearby beach to see the sunrise. I don’t know anything as beautiful as empty beach and the day getting brighter and brighter every moment. See the photo belov. Beautiful isn’t it?

The Important Questions Of October:

What it means to write blog when “real” people are reading?
I still have no idea… Maybe continue as before and try to not think it too much?

How to install new fire alarm?
Last month I was pondering how to change the battery of fire alarm. Suprisingly I learnt that! But also realized that the fire alarm I had used so much time to change the battery didn’t work… So now my problem is how the heck do I use this new alarm my mom gave to me. I can’t adult…

Vilken annan bransch skulle intressera dig?
This question is in swedish. I have no idea what it means and it’s my homework to answer it (and twenty other questions). I’m totally in trouble and don’t know how can I ever pass this course!

.         .       .

Where Have I Travelled?

London
We went with my sister to London! I have been there four times (I think?) and it never gets old. I totally love big cities and masses running around the streets. I had fun and experienced a lot touristy and some not so touristy things.

Train travelling
I have been going back and forth between my new home and former home cities. I like being in train because I always get a lot work done. (I’m in train right now!)

.         .       .

Plans for September

Survive alive from the stressful school days. Yeah, that’s it.

How are you?
